Spin-polarized imaging of strongly interacting fermions in the ferrimagnetic state of the Weyl candidate CeBi

CeBi has an intricate magnetic phase diagram whose fully-polarized state recently been suggested as a Weyl semimetal, though the role of $f$ states in promoting strong interactions remained elusive. Here we focus on less-studied, but also time-reversal symmetry-breaking ferrimagnetic CeBi, where our density functional theory (DFT) calculations predict additional nodes near Fermi level $E_\mathrm{F}$. We use spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy to image surface order itinerant Bi $p$ states, indicating their orbital hybridization with localized Ce states. observe suppression this signature at $E_\mathrm{F}$, coincident Fano line shape conductance spectra, suggesting partially Kondo screen moments, $p-f$ causes Fermi-level band renormalization. The flattening is supported by quasiparticle interference (QPI) measurements, which show splitting agreement DFT, painting consistent picture strongly interacting semimetal.
